With 30 years of experience, Sarana Artha Grahawisesa (SAG) provides value in the Indonesian construction industry by offering a holistic and exceptional portfolio of door hardware, entrance systems and electronic access produced by reputable manufacturers worldwide. Our story
1991
Founded by two hardware specialists, Sarana Artha Grahawisesa (SAG) first started its journey by partnering with its flagship brand, WILKA from Germany and pioneered the six-pin cylinder trend in Indonesia in the effort to meet the increasing demand for higher security in building projects.
1998
During the economic downturn caused by Asian Financial Crises, the company faced unprecedented challenges and was compelled to display resilience, which ultimately led us to seal landmark projects such as Wisma Mulia and Wisma 46.
2005
The firm further strengthened its offerings by becoming the distributor of Tesa Assa Abloy from Spain for panic exit devices and hotel locks and also the distributor of dormakaba from Germany for door controllers. As the construction industry flourished, we managed to be entrusted in such notable projects as Pacific Place, Senayan City, Conrad Bali, Plaza Semanggi and The Capital Residence.
2008
As a testament to our quality of work, the company achieved another milestone by being appointed to sell entrance systems from dormakaba. Shortly after, we managed to secure the automatic sliding door works in Kualanamu International Airport. In the same period, we launched a door hardware brand with German quality named Calfis to cater for the growing customer segment which required economical and building grade solutions, showcasing our agility to evolve according to the market trends.
2012
The period after the economic slowdown in 2008 marked a sustained and rapid period of growth for the company as Sarana Artha Grahawisesa continued to build a strong reputation for being a reliable door hardware provider by completing works in The Mulia Resorts and Villas BSD, Ngurah Rai International Airport, ICE BSD, Botanica Apartment, Gandaria City Superblock and other prestigious projects.
2017
When digitalization became a defining technological breakthrough with strong impacts on every industry, the company pioneered the adoption of digital door locks in Indonesia by introducing the solutions from Milre produced in South Korea. We were able to convince some project owners to make the transition from traditional mechanical locks to digital door locks and implemented these electronic locks in Scandinavian Apartment and Green Avenue. Later the company received a recognition award from Allegion, the parent holding of Milre, for its outstanding work of commercializing Milre in Indonesia.
2022
As the world was presented by yet another unforeseen challenge of a global pandemic, we were forced to once again adapt and evolve not only our product solutions but also our way of work with strict limitations on people mobility and face-to-face meetings. With a significant shift in consumer behaviour whereby traditional office and apartment projects were no longer highly developed, we were able to capture the growing market trend of data center projects propelled by the developments of AI technologies. In 2022, we became the first supplier to install fully contactless, automated and electronically controlled doors in data centers in Indonesia.
2024
With the government’s historic decision of moving the capital from the already congested Jakarta to a more centrally located Nusantara, the Indonesian construction scene in this period was defined by the development of the new Indonesian capital, in which the company was highly involved. Among projects such as Rumah Susun ASN, Rumah Susun Paspampres and Rumah Sakit Vertikal IKN, we were grateful to be able to work in the high-profile Istana Negara and Istana Garuda projects in Nusantara. The two projects demonstrated our abilities to execute complex and unique requirements in a short time frame whilst maintaining the quality of work – a major feat that was only able to be accomplished with the culmination of our 30 years of experience in delivering quality and dedicated access and locking solutions.
